The Process
An identity beyond the physical.
Every Muse Et Musée work has an identity beyond its physical form. Its digital registry documents its design, edition, and associated history, connecting it to the wider collection. Established through a controlled registration process, the record provides an official point of reference for its authenticity and ownership.
01 — The Edition
Every work begins with an identity.
Each design belongs to a defined edition, identified by its name, reference, and established production quantity. Every piece within that edition has a distinct identity of its own.
The edition establishes its place within the collection; the individual registry distinguishes one work from every other.
02 — The Individual Record
One piece. One individual record.
Each work has its own digital registry, containing the metadata that identifies it and connects it to its design and edition.
Rather than a generic certificate shared across a production run, the registry documents one specific creation, preserving the information that distinguishes it within the collection.
03 — The Registration
The physical meets the digital.
Each piece carries a unique QR code linked to its registration process. Scanning it prompts the owner to create a Muse Et Musée account or sign in to an existing one.
Once registration is complete, the work is associated with that account, making its registry and accompanying metadata accessible to its registered owner.
The QR code is then retired from further registration. It cannot be used to claim the same piece again.
04 — The Inimitable
Authenticity is not established by appearance alone.
A QR code can be copied. An official registration cannot simply be duplicated with it.
Once a work has been registered, subsequent scans return a notice confirming its existing registration. The code cannot be used to claim the work again or create a second official registry.
A copied QR code does not grant a counterfeit creation an official registration, nor does the code alone establish authenticity. The official record is governed by the Muse Et Musée registration system.
05 — Ownership & Record Integrity
The record remains protected.
Registered owners can access their work's information through their Muse Et Musée account, but cannot independently alter its metadata or ownership details.
Maintained within a centrally managed database, the registry remains separate from the owner's personal profile information.
Ownership grants access to the record, not authority to rewrite it.
06 — Transfer of Ownership
A change of ownership. A continuing history.
Ownership transfers are initiated through the current owner's Muse Et Musée account.
The new owner must verify the transfer through the official email-confirmation process and must have a Muse Et Musée account, or create one before completing verification.
Once confirmed, the registry moves to the new owner's account and is removed from the former owner's account. The underlying record preserves the ownership history, maintaining continuity between previous and current custodians.
The work changes hands. Its identity and documented history remain.
07 — The Record Beyond the Account
One record. A connected history.
Each registry exists within the wider Muse Et Musée database, connecting the work to the information that establishes its place within the collection.
The system is designed to preserve record integrity while allowing authorized access to relevant information. AI-powered capabilities can draw on existing records in a read-only capacity, without modifying them.
Changes to official records remain under the authority of Muse Et Musée, rather than individual owners or automated systems.
The work continues. The record remains.
A work can pass between owners, enter new collections, and acquire new significance over time. Its identity should not have to begin again with each change of hands.
Provenance gives every registered work a documented place within the history of Muse Et Musée. More than a record of present ownership, it preserves where the work came from and how its story continues.
